Towards The Sun – A short film by Josh Absenger

“I love skiing and I still love to go out in the mountains and spent time to film shots. I think this is my 22nd season project in a row. The experience to create something together with friends is exciting and is fulfilling my soul.

Last season, I pretty much stayed around my homeregion Schladming. In April we went to Norway for touring with Luggi Brucic, Fabi Hyden and Sebastian Höllwart. Between some touring and skiing backcountry, I always love to ride Absolut Park. It always has my heart when it comes to park riding.

The editing process in summer is something I really like to work on. I am totally free in the making. There is no voice from outside. Finding the right music, get the shots sorted, doing the first raw cut and so on. It´s a back and forth I would say, pretty like life. Sometimes things came naturally by itself and on some days you feel worse and  there is no coming forth. In the end I try to form and create a piece of art.

Shout out goes to Fabi Hyden and Sebastian Höllwart. For me Fabi is the best filmer and editor when it comes to action sports. His eye and imagination for shooting film is outstanding. He is always stoked to shoot and super motivated.  Sebastian Höllwart is a multi talent. He is a master in so many different aspects, no matter if its film, photo, or design. Thank you so much!”
