Calling all jib fiends! As of November 9, the Glacier Park at Kitzsteinhorn is back in action with a unique freestyle playground.
The Glacier Park is Kitz's traditional early-season offering, and features a creative jib park packed to the gills with tasty jibs. The crew here always make an extra effort to come up with unconventional lines, so it's no surprise that this park is known as one of the most creative in the Alps at this time of year.
Up to 12 features in a row on a fast T-bar lap: The Glacier Park is a jibber´s paradise.
Kitzsteinhorn's world-renowned Superpipe is also in business as a training ground for professional teams. The pros have the pipe booked until December, at which point it will open to the public. But in between your laps in the Glacier Park, you can always swing by the pipe to watch luminaries like Nico Porteous, David Wise and other international stars getting their game dialed for the coming contest season.
New Zealand´s Ben Harrington has been one to watch in the Kitz pipe this year.
As soon as the snow level allows, snowparks start sprouting up all over Kitz like mushrooms on fertile soil. The Easy Park usually opens in December, followed by Central Park in January. When the South Central Park is opened in February, you can ride up to twenty features in one lap. And remember, you can shred these parks until late into the spring. Last year the park didn't close until May 7!
