A judging panel of GoPro-sponsored snow athletes—including snowboarders like Sage Kotsenburg and Jamie Anderson and skiers Tom Wallisch, Hedvig Wessel and Kai Jones—will judge the submissions. Their criteria: athletic performance, video-capture quality and overall “wow factor.”
From January until April, $10,000 will be awarded monthly to one skier and one snowboarder for that month’s best ski and snowboard lines. That total runs to $80,000 given out over four months. In May, one skier and one snowboarder will be announces as winners of the GoPro Line of the Winter, and each will be rewarded with a $20,000 prize.
Participants can submit videos captured on any generation of GoPro. However, you’re probably more likely to win using something like the new HERO12 than with, for example, the GoPro 3 that’s currently collecting dust at the back of my shelf.
Submissions to the Line Of The Winter contest will be accepted until 11:59 Pacific time on 30 April 2024. For more information about the contest and video clip requirements for eligibility, visit GoPro Awards.
