K2 Pinnacle 118 – Seth Morrison’s platform of choice

When you`re on your way down on your favorite off-piste route and you hear “get out of the way” from above, you can almost be sure it’s either Seth Morrison in person, his new ski, the Pinnacle 118, or both who are about to come flying past you.

There is probably no need to say anything about Seth Morrison… the name alone says it all! But about his new pro model, the K2 Pinnacle 118, you can say a little more. Let`s begin with the facts: the Pinnacle comes in three different lengths, 177, 184 and 191cm, with a 23-meter radius on the 184cm model. In comparison to the previous models they`ve pushed the rocker even further back, leading to a better flotation in soft snow.

Luckily the weather was on our side when we got to take the Pinnacle out for a test ride in some fresh snow in the Swiss Alps. The transition between the tip and the front rocker is almost nonexistent, making the ski surf through the powder, while tight turns aren`t a problem at all. Thanks to the advanced tail rocker, you can steer the Pinnacle 118 through all kinds of terrain at whichever speed you prefer. The new built-in Konic Technology system reduces the skis’ weight to a minimum und supports a consistent distribution of pressure across the whole ski. In combination with the Hybritech Sidewall, this construction guarantees that you can hold an edge sufficiently without losing any flexibility or stiffness. Despite its 118mm waist (dimensions: 145/118/135) the Pinnacle still cuts a lean figure and tackles every kind of terrain playfully. When you`re not suffering from chest-deep powder and the snow is a little more firm than expected, the Camper Technology will help bring enough pressure on the ski to still have fun.
