Product Spotlight: Lib Tech Backwards

By: Downdays November 10, 2021

“Handcrafted near Canada in the USA,” Lib Tech has enjoyed a long run as one of the more unconventional companies in snowsports. Never afraid to try something new, they were one of the first board companies to experiment with reverse-camber designs, leading to their legendary “Banana Technology” that influenced a generation of new camber profiles.

Even more radically, Lib Tech is also one of the rare snowboard brands to dabble in ski-making. Fun fact: they called their first skis NAS, short for “Narrow Ass Snowboards.” With their inclusive approach, keep-it-real mentality and environmentally friendly ethos, Lib Tech has more than earned their reputation as one of the most core brands around, whether you're rocking one or two planks.

The Backwards is Lucas Wachs´ go-to platform for park shredding.

Lib Tech Backwards 2021/22

Freestyle Park & Pipe | €550

The Backwards is Lib Tech’s “proven best selling park slayer.” With thicker steel edges and sintered eco-friendly sublimated bases, this ski is built to handle the punishment of park riding. Its camber profile features flat early rise in the tips and tails for a press-friendly flex, while keeping plenty of camber underfoot for a powerful pop.

Lib Tech Backwards Ski

Lucas Wachs delivers the low-down on the 2021-2022 Backwards.

The Backwards also comes equipped with Lib Tech’s patented Magne-Traction® serrated edges to keep you carving even icy pistes with steak-knife precision. And with a healthy 92-94mm underfoot width (depending on the ski length), the Backwards is wide enough to handle terrain outside the park, too.
