Eileen and Alex dominate again

World Cup Halfpipe at Copper Mountain: Recap & Results

By: Adam Herman December 15, 2023

The second WC halfpipe stop brings no surprises as Alex Ferreira and Eileen Gu dominate again in perfect conditions at the Colorado superpipe. Winning runs and results below.

Exactly a week passed since the first world cup at Secret Garden and, perhaps not surprisingly, not much has changed. Reporting on what feels like deja-vu Eileen dominated the event on the women’s side. With a run almost an exact mirror of last week. Right 9 tail, Left 9 japan , Right 7 tail, Left 3 japan , Left alley 5 mute, Right alley-oop saftey. Three 90-something runs, and an easy win with 95.75.  We said it last week and we’ll say it again, Hanna Faulhaber secured herself a second place with 92 points – over a 10 point improvement from Secret Garden! With Zoe Atkin only one point behind in third place.

No surprises either on the men’s side as Alex Ferreira scooped up the gold with 4 fellow Americans behind him in the leaderboard. Starting off with a beautiful left switch 10 blunt into a right dub 16 safety, left 10 (again, properly blunted), sw right dub 10 and finishing off with a leftside dub 16 safety. This run earned him a wholesome 97 points, ending up 2 points in front of the Magma MVP Hunter Hess with 95. Who moved up a spot from last weeks WC. Followed up with a highest scoring third run of 92.5 by Birk Irving. In fourth place Nick Goepper was the last one to break into the 90s and David Wise ended up 5th place with 89 points.

See the full results below and stay tuned for the big-air finals going off tomorrow (Sat 16.12) at 18:00 CET (10am Colorado time).
