BIG AIR CHUR is back! For the second, year, the capital of the Swiss canton of Graubünden welcomes the world elite in big air skiing, as well as a stacked musical line-up headlined by none other than Busta Rhymes.
Following a wildly successful debut in 2021 that saw Tess Ledeux and Matej Svancer take the win, Switzerland's premiere big air event is back for a second year.
Big Air Chur is one of only two World Cup Big Airs this season, after a planned third event in Salun, Sweden was cancelled. Why so few Big Airs on the world's biggest competitive circuit? Well, it's a post-Olympic year for one, and one-off events like this are costly to finance, for another.
In fact, there are so few Big Airs this year that FIS won't even be awarding a Crystal Globe for the overall season winner. That's probably a big reason why so many Big Air heavy-hitters—including the entire American team—aren't on hand in Chur. Even so, there's still plenty of talent ready to vie for dominance at Big Air Chur, with 54 men and 18 women from a total of 16 countries on hand.
