The exciting climax of the 2018 Freeride World Tour season is on its way as the legendary freeride contest Xtreme Verbier kicks off March 31-April 8.
After four hard-fought tour stops in Japan, Canada, Andorra and Austria, the Freeride World Tour wraps up next week with its traditional final stop on the imposing Bec de Rosses venue in Verbier as part of the Xtreme Verbier event.
On the ski men’s side, Kristofer Turdell—who just sustained a knee injury and won’t be skiing—has already accrued enough points to claim the overall tour title for 2018 without needing to compete in Verbier. So the men will battle for the second and third positions, currently occupied by Markus Eder and Loic Collomb-Patton. On the women’s side, Arianna Tricomi currently leads the pack, pursued by Eva Walkner and Hazel Birnbaum.
As always, the event livestream will be shown on freerideworldtour.com, redbull.tv and embedded here at Downdays, and we’ll keep you up-to-date on which day the contest will take place.
