With tour stops in Spain, Andorra and Canada bagged and tagged, the 2023 Freeride World Tour now enters its closing phase. Next up: the first stop of the two-stage FWT finals on the flanks of the Wildseeloder in Fieberbrunn, Austria, part of the massive Skicircus resort complex that links the towns of Saalbach, Hinterglemm, Leogang and Fieberbrunn.

The Wildseeloder is one of the Tour’s most storied venues and has hosted a FWT contest every year since 2010. It’s also the only tour stop to showcase a best-of-two-runs format, giving riders the unique chance at a rebate on their runs. And last but certainly not least, the FWT event represents the first half of the two-stage FWT Finals; with more points available for podium finishes, the stakes are raised heading into the final tour stop in Verbier.
The highlight reel from last year´s event.
The race for the overall titles remains tight, with tour rookie Addison Rafford holding a narrow lead in the women’s ski category ahead of Molly Armanino. We’re also looking forward to the return of Arianna Tricomi; the three-time overall champion will be dropping in as a special-guest wildcard. In the men’s field, Austrian Valentin Rainer currently holds the top spot, but his buddy Max Hitzig will be looking to double down on his surprise victory as a wildcard in Fieberbrunn last year.
If you haven't seen it already, make sure to check out Valle and Max's Decide to Ride webisode series, one of the most fun video series to come out of this year's Tour.

Meanwhile, spectators and fans can make the most out of the FWT’s visit at the Freeride Festival Fieberbrunn, which features riders' talks, a ski test, parties and more throughout the weekend.
As usual, the Fieberbrunn event will be broadcast live on freerideworldtour.com. We’ll also have the livestream link running right here on Downdays.
