Last year the 23-year-old from La Clusaz, France made her much-anticipated debut on the Freeride World Tour after missing the 2023 season due to injury. She quickly made good on her promise, taking two second-place finishes at the Verbier Pro and the Kicking Horse Golden BC Pro as well as third at the Fieberbrunn Pro. These results landed her in fourth place in the overall 2024 FWT ranking.
Manon was also busy outside of the contest venues. She scored an entertaining segment together with Max Palm in Matchstick Productions’ “Calm Beneath Castles,” showcasing her skiing talent and sled-wrangling skills for one of skiing’s biggest movie productions. She also filmed a short project of her own, “Abstrus,” on a spring trip to Sweden, and gave us a glimpse into a day of her life in the freeski mecca of La Clusaz in her Core Shots episode.
In the ESOTY finals round, Manon narrowly beat the talented Italian up-and-comer Flora Tabanelli, who we’ll surely be seeing in the running for ESOTY in the years to come!
In 2024, the 22-year-old from Sandvika, Norway made waves both in the core scene and on the international contest circuit. First, he won the Jib League events at Nordkette and Myrkdalen to claim the title of Season 2 Overall Champion.
In the fall, Torm converted his core credentials into a slew of World Cup podiums, bagging second place at Big Air Chur, third at the slopestyle in Stubai and first place at Big Air Beijing. Although a broken arm at the X Games in January put a halt to Torm’s winning streak, we expect him to be back in action imminently.
Tormod’s finals showdown with Matej Svancer produced the closest result we’ve ever had in the ten years of the ESOTY contest. The end result was as close as could be, but Torm ended up clinching the title with a final result of 50.02% to 49.98%—a difference of only 4 votes!
