Crans-Montana Announces Spring Session June 6-14

By: Downdays June 03, 2020

Slowly but surely coronavirus restrictions are being rolled back in countries across Europe, allowing ski resorts from Norway to Austria to tentatively resume spring and summer operations. Switzerland is next on the list with ski areas scheduled to reopen on 6 June, and the Valaisian resort Crans-Montana will get in on the action with a "Super Mega Spring Session" from June 6-14, 2020.

"The spring session is back with a vengeance!" reports Crans-Montana, which is known in the Swiss scene for its legendary spring jams. For this year's session, the resort has brought in well-known park builder Marcel Brünisholz to assist the snowpark team in building what looks to be an all-time setup.

The setup is the same as the one that the Swiss ski and snowboard teams got to session a few weeks ago, with a six-feature rail line and a two-jump line. "Expect some fast lift laps and a ton of slushy good spring skiing," CM says.

Lift tickets are limited to 250 people per day, and can be booked online in advance at mycma.com/shop. Day tickets start from CHF 17. More information is available at crans-montana-parks.ch/megaspring.

Just because things are reopening, doesn't mean that life goes on as normal. Travel across Swiss borders from Italy, France, Austria and Germany is still limited until at least June 15, though visitors from Austria and Germany may fill out a self-declaration form to visit unmarried partners or for family events (more info here). If you plan to shred, please don't forget about practical measures against coronavirus: handwashing, physical distancing, mask-wearing and other common sense measures.
