Following the season opener in New Zealand, it’s here that we’ll get the first winter preview of the halfpipe runs of this pre-Olympic season. Will Alex Ferreira land his signature pole whip both natty and unnatty? Will Jon Sallinen demonstrate technical mastery? Will Seung Hun Lee actually enter low-earth orbit? Last year, the contest at Secret Garden marked both the start of Alex Ferreira’s domination of the halfpipe circuit, as well as Eileen Gu’s triumphant return to competition after an injury.
