For snowpark aficionados, the Nines course reveal is like a second Christmas. What crazy construction have these madpeople come up with this year?
Now the cat's officially out of the bag, and we'll just let the pictures do the talking. This is the 2023 Swatch Nines setup!
This year´s Nines is at the Schilthorn, in the Bernese Alps of Switzerland.
Yes, it´s very scenic here.
The setup includes three feature tiers: the Formation Jump, the Love Bump and the Skate Complex.
You´ve never seen anything quite like the Formation Jump before. It has three main takeoffs, with lower-level kickers hidden in the channels in between.
The Formation feature is designed to put up to eight riders in the air at one time.
The second feature is the Love Bump. It was a last-minute addition to the course, and features two takeoffs to a huge rounded landing, and an up rail in the middle for good measure. It´s not as visually spectacular as the rest of the venue, but the riders love it!
Finn Bilous caresses the bump.
The final feature is the Skate Complex. Visually and in terms of riding potential, it´s the most spectacular of the bunch.
Yes, that´s a full skate bowl in the middle!
The Skate Complex includes some jib options on the ride-out.
This feature has affectionately been nicknamed "The Toilet Bowl" by the riders.
Is it cold in here?
Want to check out Swatch Nines in person? Then don't miss the Public Day session on Saturday, April 22. The weather forecast is looking good, and a Schilthorn lift ticket is all you need to attend. See you there!
