Kelly Sildaru wins X Games Slopestyle with the Highest Score ever

After missing last year’s X Games with a knee injury, the pride of Estonia Kelly Sildaru has come into this year’s event red-hot. Yesterday she won silver in her Superpipe debut, and today she posted the highest-ever ski slopestyle score at the X Games, a 99, to win the women’s slopestyle with an apparently perfect run.

Kelly went three-for-three on her run, improving each time: first an already sky-high 94.33, then a 96.66, before achieving what’s basically a perfect score on Run 3. Her winning combination: a switch 270 on, back swap, front 270 out on the top box gap; switch on, back 720 out to 270 on, 270 out in the second rail tier; a switch on, back 630 out of the cannon rail; and a capped right cork 900 blunt and back-to-back switch 1080s in the jumps. By the way, that’s currently the best 900 blunt you’ll see in any slope contest currently, men’s or women’s. With other girls struggling to land complete runs with double flips, Kelly’s insane rail section and flawless switch 10s dominated the day.

Switzerland’s Sarah Hoefflin took second place with a score of 90 on her first run, lacing a switch on, front swap, back 270 out, switch 270 to forward and a front 450 in the rails and a right 540 mute, switch left 720 safety and switch right 1080 mute in the jumps. American Maggie Voisin rounded off the podium in third, landing a blind 360 swap to switch, front 450 out, 270 on to forward, and a back 630 out in the rails, with a right 900 tail, switch left 9 missed mute grab, and double cork 12 safety in the jumps for an 87.66.
