Qualification's were kicking of today with Andri Ragettli and Johanne Killi taking the top spots respectively.

With over 100 riders and a start list of who is who in the world of slopestyle freestyle skiing, the level of riding was extremely high on March 2nd, 2017 for the Freeski World Cup Qualifiers in beautiful Silvaplana near St Moritz. Riders had to dig deep into their trick bags to impress the judges and make it through to the final round and many a big name riders came up short. With a perfectly reshaped course and sunny skies, local Swiss rider Andri Ragetti qualified in top place and is looking to defend his title from last year. Norwegian boss lady Johanne Killi was on fire is set for another podium place after her stylish run finishing above all the other ladies. Finals are now set for Friday 3rd March and you can catch all the action via the event live webcast along with the crowning of the freeski world cup season champions.
The tricks were plenty and a few surprises
All manner of tricks were thrown down over the 4 jib and 3 kicker features for the men and women’s qualifing rounds, hardway 450 gaps, dub spins and switch everything was witnessed. With the highest score oft he day, Andri Ragetti (SUI) qualified in Mens 1st place, closely followed by Gus Kenworthy (USA) and Alex Bellemare (CAN) who between them topped the 16 final positions available from the 4 qualifing heats. In the womens Johanne Killi (NOR) sent it deep into 1st place, followed by Devin Logan (USA) and Maggie Voisin (USA) to lead the top 3 of 8 qualifing positions available. Other riders to make it through include family favourites Josi Wells (NZ) and Bobby Brown (USA) along with Emma Dahlstrom (SWE) and Isabel Atkin (GBR). Head judge Charly Royer (FRA) is happy with the outcome of the day „Today was a good day, we saw a lot of good runs at the highest level but a lot of top riders were unable to make it to the finals so this will make for a really exciting final tomorrow. As we saw today anything is possible.“
