Day after day, hour after hour, even minute after minute — skiers kept going higher and higher on the massive Suzuki Nine Knights hip last week, finally upgrading the world record hip air from 11 meters to a lofty 14.2 meter air from David Wise.
Though David gets to claim the record, plenty of other skiers hit the 13-meter mark, including Christof Schenk, Jules Bonnaire and Joffrey Pollet-Villard with huge alley-oop 270s. Bene Mayr’s straight airs and Alex Beaulieu-Marchand’s cork 450s were way up there as well.
Despite a few days of bad weather, the skiers were able to make use of short weather windows to charge into the feature at full speed. “I’m so exhausted,” admitted Jules Bonnaire after his highest jump. “All this adrenaline, all this pressure. It’s just so intense.”
Now let’s let the pictures talk.
